Moving to Japan

So in case there are some people who read this blog and haven’t heard the news …

We’re moving to Japan!

Kory and I will be participating in the Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme (JET Programme/Program) for 2008-2009. We will move to Japan at the end of July and teach at a Japanese high school for one year. Kory’s family may not know that I was born in Japan, and it has always been a dream of mine to go back and live there for awhile. Kory has really latched onto this idea, and we are both very excited about our new adventure.

We will continue to update this blog with announcements or blogs that are meant for family and friends only. However, I will be posting photos and videos related specifically to our time in Japan at a new blog, kellyinjapan.com. Please subscribe to or bookmark this site, as it will probably see more updates in the next year than koryandkelly.com. :)

We leave in 39 days!

Happy Anniversary!

Today is our 2-year anniversary! The wedding doesn’t seem that long ago, does it?

We plan to go to the Melting Pot tonight for dinner. It’s this fabulous fondue place. We absolutely love it but can’t go very often. Yum! I know I’m really looking forward to it, especially the cheeeeeese course.

Here at work, we’re having a crockpot full of beans for lunch to celebrate my anniversary. For those of you who don’t know, my office has developed this awesome crockpot habit. We get free stuff from luncheons (and cheap stuff from the food court, which is here in our building) and make crazy soups out of it. Tortilla, potato, vegetable, curry, we’ve had it all - only supplemented by stock items from home like an everlasting bag of beans and some free rice that somebody scored. So they’ll take any excuse for a crockpot party. :P
