Well we successfully moved into our new house today and yesterday (except for the few random stacks of things that are still in the apartment and cleaning the apartment). Most of the boxes that are here have been unloaded, though there are a few still to go.
We found we will have a little bit of fixing up to do … I went to Home Depot today and successfully fixed the toilet (for free, thanks to a 1-year old gift card)! For those Sim-players among you, I believe I earned a Mechanical Skill Point. I also chopped and hacked away at the lush tropical vegetation in our front yard, which I have come to fondly call “the tropical rain forest.” So you can now walk to the front door without discovering any new species. Kory worked hard all day lifting boxes, driving the U-Haul, and packing. Caspian got shut in the sunroom more than he would like.
Ok, now it’s time for some surfing of the interweb.
Today is our 1-year anniversary. It’s hard to believe it’s been a whole year since we got married. I’m just now getting DVDs to people, and I still haven’t done our wedding scrapbook …
To celebrate, we spent the day together doing fun stuff. We woke up and went to a sculpture garden, then went to a cute little park to have a picnic that I’d put together the night before. Then we went to the Museum of Fine Arts and then had a latte (me) / smoothie (Kory) at a local coffee shop. Then we came home and took a nap; then we went out to eat at a cool tapas place someone at work told me about.
Thanks to those of you who sent cards/emails/etc. Yay anniversary!
So we are supposedly officially approved to rent our first house!
We are moving in on June 23. I will be sad to leave our apartment, but on the other hand Caspian pooped outside for the first time today - so maybe it’s good that he’ll have his own yard to poop in. 
Edit: I forgot to mention that it’s literally around the corner from where Kory’s dad grew up. Weird huh?
