Weekend Report

I shot my first wedding this weekend, with Marla and Jenny. It was very fun, and the Jayne hat made an appearance at the subsequent Capture party! We’re getting together later to edit it all together.

Meanwhile, Kory is done with work for the semester and is enjoying his vacation. We are having a “bay Christmas” Tuesday night and are then spending the real holiday with our individual families for the last time.

In wedding news … Anne, Heather and Jessica have each sent me their top three choices for bridesmaid tops and all agree on the shorter, 40’s-ish skirt. I found a top I liked for the junior bridesmaids, as well. I got on IM tonight and found Lindsay and Annika - Annika said she would love to sing at the wedding, and Lindsay promises she’ll email her top choices tomorrow. I’ve heard that one before!

WEDDING DRESS

Well, it’s official. I ordered my wedding dress this afternoon.

I guess now we have to get married!

Weekend Report

Wow, this was a very productive weekend. Here is what Mom and I did before she headed back to A-town this afternoon:

  • Found a wedding dress!
  • Found cute bridesmaids dresses for the girls to choose from; got a swatch of the material to match other stuff to
  • Decided on window treatments
  • Emailed several people asking if they’d be in the wedding
  • Got confirmation from Uncle Scott for Rachel to be flower girl
  • Got confirmation from Amanda (Kilgore) to sing

All in all, a very well-spent weekend. The fondue was excellent, and I recommend it to anyone who has four hours to spare. Narnia was good, but obviously written for children. I would compare it to Harry Potter movies 1 & 2 as opposed to 3 & 4, if that gives you an idea. Also, if you go see the movie, do not get up when the credits start! There is an extra scene. When we went, everyone in the huge theatre had gotten up and was moving toward the door. Then the scene came on and the entire mass of people stopped in their tracks to watch it - then continued on. Not the best idea, but perhaps it’s to be expected from the director of Shrek. Still, I enjoyed it very much.

Mom, Web Portfolio

After much toil and a couple of scary pictures, my web portfolio is online. I have to say that I am very pleased with BlueHost so far. No major problems yet (*crossing fingers*).

Also, Mom is in town to go WEDDING DRESS SHOPPING! We had some salad at Applebee’s tonight and grabbed a gingerbread latte at Barnes & Noble’s. Tomorrow morning we will hit up David’s Bridal before I head over to Kory’s.

Happy 4 years!

Yes, indeed. Thursday marks Kory’s and my FOUR-YEAR anniversary. Ah, the good old days … In the satiric spirit of retrospectives, let us examine some of the characteristics of “old us.”

  • We call each other by our real names.
  • We call each other “baby.”
  • Kory is in college.
  • I have short hair.
  • Kory doesn’t have a computer.
  • I mope around with a sad face because Kory is in Houston.
  • We IM instead of text.
  • Boys hit on me.
  • We go to Chili’s every week instead of every other week.
  • We hold real conversations with each other, instead of one person voicing both parts so the other is saved the trouble of responding.
  • I don’t have a ring!

We will be marking the occasion with an IMAX (hopefully) showing of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and a loooong fondue dinner. Congratulations are welcome!
