So here we are at the hotel. Keith and sherry dropped us off a few minutes ago. Kory is practicing his speech in the bathroom and I made coffee. More updates to come, so keep an eye on Flickr!

Happy Birthday, Caspian!

Caspian turns 2 years old today!

In people years that means he is 14, but don’t worry - he is still very sweet and not teenage angstful at all. :) So far he has not had a very good birthday, as he had to take a bath and got blow-dried afterward. He did get a piece of hot dog bun.

The Kilgores are hosting a family farewell party for us tonight after we get back from my farewell party at work. Kory’s friends had a farewell party for us on Saturday. Seems like we are popular people!

Catchup

Happy Fourth of July!Well, it’s been a crazy couple of weeks for both of us.

I just got back into town from a whirlwind trip. I got off work at 5 on Friday and then drove to Abilene that night (and got really lost on the way). Then all day Saturday was the CYC reunion rehearsal and concert, which was lots of fun even though I ended up sightreading most of the music. I hung out with Claire a lot and also saw Kristi and Christy briefly on Sunday. Then Monday the whole fam minus Jessica drove to Dallas to spend a couple of days with Gram and Paw Paw.

Meanwhile, Kory had to stay in Houston this whole time because the JET Q&A session was all day Saturday. He attended for both of us and got a bunch of good reading material. He also finished getting us moved out of our house and into Keith & Sherry’s.

Yesterday we finally got to relax a little. We went to the Astros game in the afternoon (dollar hot dog day!). Today we lounged around the house, did some cleaning, read some of our JET material, and cooked our own Fourth of July dinner. I convinced Kory to watch Enchanted with me, and it was really cute! I recommend it as a great date movie. Keith and Sherry are at the lake, and there were no fireworks, so it was a pretty low-key evening.

I’m off work for most of July and am really looking forward to using this time to get prepared for our move and study Japanese.

At the baseball game!
